Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Adil Villa & Resort for a gourmet escape was a delightful experience steeped in Balinese charm. The spacious room, nestled by picturesque rice fields, provided a serene retreat after long days exploring Ubud. It facilitated relaxation with an abundance of amenities, including Netflix and a welcoming pool. The culinary scene, while a highlight, left room for improvement. Breakfast was impressive in its variety, showcasing both Western and Asian offerings. It was somewhat frustrating to learn about fresh egg options only upon the last days of my stay. The buffet boasted some appealing dishes, yet the quality varied; I found the meatballs to be lackluster, lacking the authentic taste expected in Balinese cuisine. Dining in the resort's restaurant was accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature—ideal for a few peaceful moments before venturing out to explore local delights. Though I savoured the chicken stew, it was disappointing that it was infrequently available. On the brighter side, the hospitality was commendable, with staff like Duwi and Anna creating a welcoming atmosphere. While the dining experience has potential, the tranquil surroundings and welcoming service make Adil Villa & Resort a worthwhile destination for food enthusiasts like me.
